The TOOL-FLO 563694PRAC3R is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries an AC3 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, delivering heat and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting conditions. The insert measures 0.094 inches cutting width with a maximum depth of cut of 0.18 inches and features a neutral rake angle and a double-end configuration, giving machinists two usable cutting edges per insert. The FLG0.375CB designation places it in TOOL-FLO's Flo-Lock clamping series, and the right-hand orientation suits standard turning setups. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in job shop and production environments.
This insert is intended for grooving applications on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and stainless steel workpieces. The Flo-Lock series is commonly used in medium to high-volume turning operations where secure clamp-style insert holding is required. The CB chip breaker geometry helps manage chip flow and reduces chip packing in groove profiles. The 0.375-inch gage diameter, 0.19 inches overall width, and corner radius range of 0.005 to 0.010 inches make it suitable for tight-tolerance groove work where edge consistency is critical.
Designed for use with TOOL-FLO Flo-Lock series toolholders accepting FLG-style grooving inserts. ISO code FLG-3094R-CB. Also referenced under MSC/Manufacturer Number FLG-3094R/L-CB. Material grade C2/C3.
Insert replacement should be performed with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the Flo-Lock toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or wear before seating a new insert. Handling solid carbide inserts with care is recommended, as carbide edges are brittle and susceptible to chipping from impact or improper clamping.
