The TOOL-FLO 0141R10AC50C is a solid carbide, on-edge threading insert designed for cutting both external and internal V-form threads on CNC lathes and threading toolholders. Manufactured to the AC50C grade with a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, this insert handles thread pitches from 4 to 20 TPI and seats in TNMC-style insert pockets. The 0.5-inch inscribed circle and 0.1890-inch thickness conform to standard on-edge insert geometry. Neutral cutting direction and neutral rake make it compatible with right-hand and left-hand toolholder setups without requiring a handed insert change. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments will find this insert suited to high-volume threading cycles.
This insert is intended for threading operations on cast iron and steel workpieces, covering a broad range of fastener and mechanical thread profiles using the 60-degree V standard. The 4-20 TPI range accommodates coarse and fine thread pitches commonly found in general machining, tooling fabrication, and component manufacturing. The AlTiN coating supports elevated cutting speeds and extends tool life in abrasive ferrous materials. A countersunk hole provides secure clamping in standard TNMC on-edge toolholders used on manual and CNC lathes.
Designed for use in TNMC-style on-edge threading toolholders compatible with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle insert. Suitable for machining cast iron and steel workpieces.
Threading inserts are installed and serviced by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely without cracking the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
