The TITAN USA TR97599 is a high-speed steel construction reamer designed to enlarge and finish drilled holes to precise dimensions in structural and fabrication applications. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, a flatted 1/2-inch shank for secure chuck engagement, and five spiral flutes in a left-hand spiral, right-hand cut configuration. This geometry helps control chip evacuation and reduces chatter during the cut. The oxide and gold coating provides a degree of surface hardness and lubricity. At 6.375 inches overall length with a 4.25-inch flute length, it suits standard drill press and hand-drill setups. Machinists, ironworkers, and construction tradespeople use this tool when standard twist drills leave holes undersized or rough.
This reamer is suited for through-hole finishing in steel, structural iron, and similar ferrous materials encountered in construction and fabrication work. The right-hand cut with left-hand spiral flute design is commonly selected for applications where chip flow away from the workpiece is preferred. It fits standard 1/2-inch drill chucks used on portable drills, drill presses, and magnetic base drills found on job sites and in fabrication shops.
Designed as a direct-fit construction reamer for use in any 1/2-inch capacity drill chuck, including portable drills, benchtop drill presses, and magnetic base drills requiring a standard flatted shank tool.
Installation and use of this reamer should be performed by qualified machinists or tradespeople familiar with rotary cutting tools. Ensure the workpiece is firmly secured before reaming to prevent movement during the cut. Use cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Inspect the shank seating in the chuck before operation and confirm the chuck key is fully removed before powering the drill.
