The TITAN USA TR96191 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent bore accuracy in drill press, lathe, or machining center setups. The reamer measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 9 inch overall length and a 2.25 inch flute length. Eight straight flutes cut in a right-hand direction, producing smooth, dimensionally accurate holes with a diameter tolerance held to +0.0003 to -0.0000 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard chucks or collets. This tool is part of the TR96 series from TITAN USA and is sold individually.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing reamed bores in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials where tight dimensional control is required. The straight-flute geometry works well in through-holes and short blind holes where chip clearance is manageable. It is commonly used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance tradespeople who need repeatable hole sizing without the need for specialized coolant-through tooling. The uncoated HSS construction allows for easy resharpening with standard grinding equipment, extending tool life in low-to-moderate production environments.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and machining centers that accept a straight-cylindrical shank tool in the 5/8 inch diameter range.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before mounting, ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are clean and free of debris to prevent runout that can affect tolerance. Always reduce spindle speed compared to the equivalent drill diameter and apply appropriate cutting fluid for the work material. Never reverse spindle rotation while the reamer is engaged in the bore, as this will damage the cutting edges.
