The TITAN USA TE82832 is a 2-flute cobalt square end mill designed for milling ferrous and hard materials in machining centers and manual mills. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles elevated cutting temperatures better than standard HSS tooling. The 0.750 inch diameter and 30-degree right-hand upcut helix geometry promote chip evacuation and reduce chatter. With a 1.3125 inch length of cut and a 3.4375 inch overall length, it suits medium-depth slot milling, profile milling, and peripheral cutting. It is center-cutting, so plunge cuts are supported. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous alloys where cobalt tooling outperforms standard M2 HSS. The 5/8 inch shank diameter fits ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and side-lock holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. It is a single-end tool with a right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, making it compatible with conventional right-hand spindle operation. Typical applications include slotting, side milling, and profiling at moderate feeds and speeds where AlTiN coating provides additional heat and wear resistance.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill with a 5/8 inch shank, compatible with ER collet systems, end mill holders, and side-lock toolholders accepting a 0.625 inch shank diameter in right-hand spindle machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention screw or collet nut according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cutting operations, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and reduces surface finish quality.
