The TITAN USA TE81247 is a 4-flute cobalt square end mill designed for milling ferrous and abrasion-resistant materials in machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers increased heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tooling. The cutter measures 0.8125 inches in diameter with a 1.875-inch length of cut and a 0.75-inch Weldon flat shank. A 30-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The bright, uncoated finish makes it suitable for general-purpose milling where coating is not required. This end mill is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can be plunged directly into a workpiece as well as used for peripheral and slot milling.
This end mill is intended for use on manual knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and similar setups where a 3/4-inch collet or Weldon-style tool holder is available. It is well suited for side milling, slotting, and profiling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other tough ferrous alloys. The 4.125-inch overall length provides adequate reach for standard depth workpieces without excessive overhang. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shops, maintenance departments, and production environments are the primary users of this tooling.
Designed for use in 3/4-inch Weldon-style side-lock tool holders and compatible 3/4-inch collet systems on vertical machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tooling setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the tool holder and tighten the set screw against the flat to prevent axial pullout. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm that feeds, speeds, and depth of cut are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
