The TITAN USA TC79254 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to No. 54 wire gauge (0.0550 inches decimal equivalent). It features an ALTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that extends tool life by reducing heat and friction during high-speed drilling. The 118-degree standard point angle provides a versatile cutting geometry suited to a broad range of metalworking applications. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 0.75-inch spiral flute, this is a compact, rigid bit designed for precision drilling in hard and abrasive materials. Machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance technicians install this bit in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools.
The TC79254 is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — material codes P, M, K, and S. Its regular spiral flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with standard clockwise-rotation spindles. The 14xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip evacuation for moderate drilling depths up to 0.75 inches. This bit is a general-purpose performer well suited to production drilling, prototype work, and maintenance repair operations where small-diameter precision holes are required in ferrous and high-temp alloy workpieces.
Designed for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, K, and S) using standard clockwise-rotation spindles with collets or drill chucks accepting a 0.0550-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or skilled trades personnel familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully secured before initiating a cut, and verify that chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits for small-diameter carbide tooling. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed-rate adjustment, or re-chucking with debris in the collet bore. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier recommendations for speed and feed parameters appropriate to the workpiece material.
