The TITAN USA TC79211 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit ground to a No. 11 wire size (0.1910 inches diameter) with a 118-degree split point and an ALTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating. It is designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and exotic materials where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short. The right-hand spiral flute geometry and split point promote accurate hole entry and efficient chip evacuation. Overall length is 2.75 inches with a 1.625-inch flute length, making it a standard jobber-length tool suited to drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools used by machinists and metalworking tradespeople.
This drill bit is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — material categories corresponding to ISO application codes P, M, K, and S. It is a general-purpose drill suited to production and maintenance drilling environments where a reliable, wear-resistant solid carbide tool is required. The TC79 series is built around a 9xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a straight cylindrical shank that seats directly in standard drill chucks without adapters.
Designed for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power tools accepting a straight cylindrical shank of 0.1910 inches diameter. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (ISO codes P, M, K, S).
Secure the straight shank firmly in a calibrated drill chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Solid carbide tooling is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts at high feed rates, or using the bit as a pry to clear chips. When drilling stainless steel or superalloys, use consistent feed pressure to prevent work hardening at the cutting edge. Follow the machine manufacturer and applicable shop-safety guidelines for spindle speed selection based on workpiece material and hole depth.
