The TITAN USA TC79104 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to Letter F (0.2460 inches decimal equivalent) with an 118-degree split point and an ALTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating. Built from solid carbide throughout, it delivers the hardness and heat resistance needed to cut through demanding workpiece materials without premature edge breakdown. The split point geometry reduces walking at entry and lowers the thrust required to start the hole. At 3.25 inches overall length with a 2-inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders that accept a straight cylindrical shank. Two regular spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations.
This drill is rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. It is a general-purpose drilling tool suited for production machining, maintenance and repair shops, and job shops working across mixed material types. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio gives adequate reach for most standard-depth applications. Coolant-through capability is not available on this model, so external flood or mist cooling is recommended when drilling heat-sensitive alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production drill in the TITAN USA TC79 series, compatible with any drill chuck or collet rated for a 0.2460-inch straight cylindrical shank.
This drill bit is installed and changed by machinists and toolroom technicians; always de-energize the spindle and confirm the machine is in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting. When drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium, apply adequate external coolant or cutting fluid to manage heat buildup, as this model does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping after each run on abrasive or hard materials, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to edge damage from interrupted cuts or excessive feed rates.
