The TITAN USA TC74656 is a 4-flute, solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal-removal operations in ferrous and exotic materials. It carries an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating, which extends tool life when cutting superalloys, titanium alloys, stainless steel, and hardened cast iron. The 0.0600-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and improves surface finish on profiled features. At 6 inches overall length with a 3-inch length of cut, this is an extra-long geometry suited for deep-pocket milling, cavity work, and extended-reach applications where a standard-length tool cannot reach the workpiece.
This end mill is built for CNC machining centers handling roughing and finishing passes in ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, and titanium alloy workpieces. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard toolholders and collet chucks. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry follow conventional milling setup. The 30-degree helix angle and normal pitch promote chip evacuation and stable cutting forces. Machinists running aerospace, medical, and heavy industrial parts will find this tool particularly suited for materials that rapidly wear uncoated carbide.
Designed for use with standard straight-shank toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 3/4-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include superalloys, titanium alloy, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and cast iron.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician on a CNC machining center or manual knee mill equipped with an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Confirm toolholder runout is within acceptable limits before engaging the cut, as elevated runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Power down the spindle and follow lockout/tagout procedures before loading or changing the tool. Avoid side-loading the tool beyond the recommended depth of cut for the workpiece material to prevent chipping the carbide substrate.
