The TITAN USA TC74402 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding materials including superalloys, titanium alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. It carries a 0.5 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius and features four right-hand spiral flutes with a medium helix angle of 30 degrees. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal and wear resistance suited to high-temperature alloys and ferrous metals. At 1/8 inch in diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and 2.25 inch overall length, this tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a long-reach configuration. A straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard toolholders.
This end mill fits CNC machining centers and manual mills where close-tolerance corner radii are required on hard or heat-resistant workpiece materials. Typical applications include aerospace component machining, mold and die work in stainless steel and superalloys, and precision finishing passes on cast iron. The single-end, center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry and slot milling. Normal pitch spacing and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with standard climb- and conventional-milling strategies on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore milling toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are superalloys and titanium (material code S), stainless steel (material code M), and cast iron (material code K). Also rated for ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, alloy steel, titanium alloy, and Inconel.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm concentricity within acceptable tolerances for the intended operation. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when setting cutting parameters for hard or exotic alloys.
