The TITAN USA TC73946 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. With a 0.5-inch diameter, 0.0150-inch corner radius, and a 4-flute right-hand spiral configuration, this stub-length tool is built to handle both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard and abrasive materials. A 30-degree medium helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance ensures secure seating in standard toolholders.
This end mill is suited for CNC milling operations on superalloys, titanium alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and other ferrous metals. Its stub-length geometry offers rigidity in tight-tolerance applications where chatter and deflection must be minimized. The 0.5-inch shank mounts directly into standard end mill holders and collet chucks. It is a single-end tool intended for right-hand cutting direction. Machinists and toolroom operators in aerospace, defense, medical device, and heavy industrial shops will find this configuration well-matched to difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include superalloys, titanium alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. Part of the TITAN USA Series TC product line.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder collet or chuck and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as even minor misalignment will accelerate wear on carbide tooling.
