The TITAN USA TC73916 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. With a 1/4 inch mill diameter, 4 helical flutes, and a 0.0150 inch corner radius, this tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single pass. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, making it well-suited for high-heat cutting environments. The stub-length configuration with a 1/2 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length offers rigidity in tight-clearance setups. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. The straight-cylindrical 1/4 inch shank fits conventional toolholders without adapters.
This end mill is engineered for cutting superalloys, titanium alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and other ferrous metals. It is a single-end, center-cutting design suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations on CNC machining centers. The medium helix angle and normal pitch support stable chip evacuation across these difficult-to-machine materials. Machinists working in aerospace, defense, oil and gas, and precision manufacturing will find this tool appropriate for ISO material groups S, M, and K. It is not equipped with a chipbreaker or coolant-through capability.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include superalloys, titanium alloys, Inconel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and cast iron (ISO material groups S, M, and K).
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool turret or spindle is locked before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank to the full recommended grip depth in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and reduce corner radius accuracy on this tight-tolerance tool.
