The TITAN USA TC63006 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication, toolroom work, and production machining environments. It features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut, a 45-degree helix angle, and a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating that extends tool life and improves chip evacuation in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting conditions. This tool is single-end, right-hand cutting, and center-cutting, making it capable of plunge entry as well as side and slot milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and users.
The TC63006 is suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations on machining centers and CNC mills handling steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar materials. The 3-flute geometry provides a balance between chip clearance and surface finish, making it a practical choice for both roughing and light finishing passes on small-diameter features. The 5/16 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, allowing direct mounting in standard collets or end mill holders without a step-down adapter. Overall length is 2 inches, keeping the tool compact for rigidity in close-tolerance work.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 5/16 inch collets, ER collet chucks, or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a test indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality.
