The TITAN USA TC62964 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with a ZrN (zirconium nitride) coating, this tool delivers extended tool life and resistance to heat buildup at the cutting edge. The 1 inch diameter cutter features a 45-degree helix angle and three flutes configured for upcut, right-hand cutting action. With a 1.75 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length, it is suited for full-depth slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is configured as a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry into workpieces without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The right-hand flute direction combined with the 45-degree upcut helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces re-cutting of chips during deep-cavity milling. The 1 inch shank diameter seats directly into ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic toolholders commonly used in CAT40 and BT40 spindle systems. It is well suited for finish and semi-finish passes in steel, stainless, cast iron, and hardened materials where a micrograin substrate provides the necessary edge stability.
Designed as a standard 1 inch shank square end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders accepting a 1 inch shank diameter in CAT, BT, HSK, and straight-bore spindle systems.
Installation is performed by machinists following shop tooling procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout on a carbide tool accelerates edge chipping and reduces tool life.
