The TITAN USA TC53448 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 3/64 inch (0.0470 inch decimal) mill diameter and a 3-flute geometry, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work where smaller cutting diameters are required. The 30-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suitable for demanding cutting conditions. This tool is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry, and features a bright/uncoated finish suited for general-purpose use. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this end mill.
The TC53448 is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter end mills are required for finishing passes, slotting, or profiling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/8 inch length of cut and 1/8 inch shank diameter make it well-suited for work in confined areas or on small-scale features. The 2-1/2 inch overall length provides reach without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter. Typical applications include mold and die work, precision part production, and detailed contour milling where a miniature square end profile is needed.
Designed as a standard 1/8 inch shank square end mill compatible with collets and tool holders accepting 1/8 inch shanks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into a matched collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as runout is especially critical at small diameters.
