The TITAN USA TC20125 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for short-hole drilling in metal, composites, and hard materials where rigidity and tool life are priorities. Built from solid carbide, it offers significantly higher hardness and heat resistance compared to high-speed steel alternatives. The 135-degree split point geometry reduces walking at entry, allowing drilling without a center punch in most applications. At 3 inches overall length, this stub-length format minimizes deflection and increases stability in production and manual drilling setups. The bright uncoated finish is suitable for use with or without coolant on a wide range of workpiece materials.
This drill bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, production drilling operations, and maintenance technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and fiber-reinforced materials. Designed as a general-purpose screw machine length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Fits applications requiring a Letter Y diameter (0.4040 inches) within the 0.4000 to 0.4500 inch drill bit size range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with drill bit selection and speeds-and-feeds practices for carbide tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation, and verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Avoid using carbide drill bits in hand-held drills where side loading and vibration can cause fracture. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and do not force a chipped or worn bit.
