The TITAN USA TC20030 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding shop and field applications. With a 15/32 inch (0.4688 inch decimal) diameter and a 135-degree split point, it starts on contact without a center punch and reduces walking on hard or smooth surfaces. The shorter screw machine length body provides increased rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it well suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production environments where chatter and deflection are concerns. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-3/8 inch flute length, this bit is handled and stored easily while still delivering consistent hole quality. Right-hand cutting with a regular spiral flute pattern. No coolant-through capability. Weighs 0.27 pounds.
This drill bit is intended for machinists, toolroom technicians, and production floor operators working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composite materials. The solid carbide construction handles higher cutting speeds than high-speed steel alternatives and maintains edge integrity in abrasive or hard materials. Typical applications include short-hole drilling on machining centers, turret lathes, and drill presses where a straight cylindrical shank and compact overall length are required. The bright uncoated finish makes this a general-purpose option across a range of workpiece materials without coating compatibility concerns.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for any drill press, CNC machining center, or turret lathe accepting a straight cylindrical shank bit in the 0.4500 to 0.5000 inch diameter range. Part of TITAN USA Series 200.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel following standard tooling change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully into the chuck or collet and verify runout before beginning a cut. Solid carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts beyond the material rating, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces.
