The TITAN USA TC20028 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding shop and field applications. Built to Series 200 standards, this bit features a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) diameter with a 135-degree split point that self-centers on contact and reduces walking on hard or interrupted surfaces. The bright uncoated carbide construction delivers excellent hardness and wear resistance across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With an overall length of 3 inches and a 1-3/8 inch flute length, this stub-length bit offers increased rigidity compared to jobber-length alternatives, making it a reliable choice for machinists, tool-and-die techs, and maintenance professionals.
This bit is suited for screw machine operations, CNC drilling, and manual drill press work where short tool overhang and reduced deflection are critical. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. Right-hand cutting rotation and a regular spiral flute pattern ensure efficient chip evacuation in both through-hole and blind-hole applications. It is commonly used on cast iron, hardened steels, stainless, aluminum, and plastics where carbide is preferred over high-speed steel for extended tool life.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use screw machine drill bit for any drill press, CNC machining center, or hand drill with a chuck capacity accommodating a 7/16 inch straight shank.
This bit should be installed and used by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the straight shank firmly in the drill chuck before operation and verify chuck key is removed prior to powering the machine. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow shop safety protocols. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for solid carbide tooling in the workpiece material being drilled.
