The TITAN USA TC19228 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in No. 28 wire size (9/64 inch, 0.1406 inch decimal), designed for precision drilling in demanding materials. The 118-degree split point geometry reduces walking at entry and lowers thrust requirements compared to a conventional chisel point. With a 2.5-inch overall length and a 1.375-inch flute length, this bit suits standard jobber drilling applications where tight tolerances and clean hole entry are required. It carries a bright uncoated finish and is ground for right-hand, regular spiral cutting action. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users.
The TC19228 is rated for general-purpose drilling in a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. Its 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it well suited to through-hole and moderate-depth drilling operations on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools where a 9/64-inch diameter is called for. No coolant-through capability is featured, so adequate external lubrication or cutting fluid should be applied when drilling ferrous and exotic alloys.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium workpieces. Fits any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 9/64-inch straight shank.
Install and remove drill bits only with the spindle at a full stop and the machine powered down or the tool unplugged. Secure the straight shank in a properly sized drill chuck or collet to the manufacturer-recommended torque for the chuck model in use. Apply appropriate cutting fluid or coolant externally when drilling ferrous and exotic alloy materials to extend tool life and maintain hole quality. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide is brittle and should not be used in applications subject to heavy lateral loading or interrupted cuts without verifying suitability.
