The TITAN USA TC17620 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers hardness and heat resistance suited to ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutter measures 0.3125 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length. Four flutes and a 30-degree helix angle promote chip evacuation and surface finish quality. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece as well as cut laterally. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited to CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and vertical milling machines handling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions, making it practical for interrupted cuts and dry or near-dry machining environments. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute, upcut geometry is the standard configuration for the majority of vertical milling setups encountered in job shops and production facilities.
Designed as a standard 5/16-inch shank square end mill compatible with collets, end mill holders, and tool holders accepting a 0.3125-inch shank diameter on CNC or manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or changing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut to the tool holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating the cutting program. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for the work material and coating type.
