The TITAN USA SD93652 is a reduced shank cobalt drill bit designed for drilling into hard, abrasive, and high-tensile materials where standard high-speed steel bits fall short. The bit measures 13/16 inch (0.8125 inch) in diameter with a 1/2 inch reduced shank, allowing it to seat in standard 1/2 inch chucks without requiring a larger chuck capacity. Overall length is 6 inches, with a 3 inch flute length that provides adequate chip evacuation during deep-hole drilling. The 135-degree split-point tip reduces walking on entry and requires less feed pressure than a conventional 118-degree point. A bright, uncoated finish keeps the surface free of coatings that can chip under high heat loads common to cobalt-grade applications.
This bit is suited for metalworking applications in maintenance, manufacturing, and fabrication environments where operators encounter stainless steel, hardened alloy steels, cast iron, and similarly tough workpiece materials. The reduced shank design is practical when a standard-shank bit of this diameter would require a larger chuck than what is available on the machine. It is a Series 622 bit and is typically installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, pipefitters, and industrial tradespeople working with drill presses, lathes, or heavy-duty hand drills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application bit for use in any drill press, lathe, or hand drill equipped with a 1/2 inch chuck capacity, where a 13/16 inch cutting diameter is required.
A licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician should install and operate this bit. Always power down and lock out the drill press or machine spindle before changing bits. Secure the reduced shank firmly in the chuck jaws and verify concentricity before applying feed load. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to prolong bit life and manage heat.
