The TITAN USA CD60825 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit in No. 10 wire size (0.1495 inches diameter), designed for drilling through ferrous and hard-to-machine materials in production and maintenance environments. The bit features an ALTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding applications. With a 135-degree split-point geometry, it starts on contact without center-punching and reduces walking on flat surfaces. The CD60 series uses a straight cylindrical shank and a regular spiral flute pattern, making it compatible with standard drill chucks. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators rely on this bit for consistent hole quality in difficult materials.
This bit is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — materials where standard high-speed steel bits wear quickly or fail. Typical applications include structural fabrication, maintenance and repair, and production drilling in machine shops. The 13xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip clearance for moderate-depth holes. The maximum drilling depth matches the 1.875-inch flute length, making it appropriate for through-holes and blind holes in workpieces up to that depth.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill for use in handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers accepting straight cylindrical shanks. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and S cover steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium.
A licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician should install and operate this bit following applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck and verify runout before drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium, even though this bit does not have a through-coolant channel. Power down and lock out the machine before changing bits.
