The TITAN USA CD50230 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit engineered for demanding metal drilling applications. Manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel with an oxide and TiN coating, it delivers extended tool life when cutting hard ferrous materials. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and lowers thrust force at entry, making it well suited for production drilling in tough stock. With an overall length of 2.75 inches and a flute length of 1.625 inches, the CD50230 is sized for standard jobber-length use in a wide range of drilling equipment. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.1285 inches in diameter, matching the 0.1285-inch (decimal) wire size 30 cutting diameter.
This drill bit is intended for cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — materials that generate high heat and rapidly wear standard high-speed steel tooling. The cobalt composition and oxide/TiN coating resist heat buildup, making the CD50230 appropriate for aerospace, industrial maintenance, and heavy fabrication work. It is sold individually and is a practical shop consumable for machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians who regularly drill difficult alloys without coolant-through tooling.
Designed as a jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks, collet holders, and drilling fixtures accepting a 0.1285-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium per Series CD50 design intent.
Installation of this drill bit is performed by machinists, maintenance mechanics, or tooling technicians using a compatible drill press, CNC machining center, or hand drill with a suitable chuck. Ensure the chuck or collet is fully tightened and the shank is fully seated before operation. When drilling stainless steel or superalloys, use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant to manage heat even though coolant-through is not required by this bit design. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use, as cobalt tooling in hard materials may show edge degradation that is not always visually obvious.
