The TITAN USA CD50216 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for cutting through stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — materials that quickly destroy standard high-speed steel tooling. Built to Series CD50 specifications, the bit features a 135-degree split-point geometry that reduces walking at startup and lowers thrust requirements compared to a conventional 118-degree point. The cobalt construction with oxide and gold coating adds heat resistance and extends tool life in high-temperature cutting applications. At 3.375 inches overall length with a 2.1875-inch flute, it is proportioned for general-purpose machine and hand-drill work in fabrication, maintenance, and field service environments.
This bit is intended for drilling wire size 16 holes, equivalent to 0.177 decimal inch or 4.50 mm, in ferrous and exotic-alloy workpieces. It is suited for use in CNC drill presses, benchtop drill presses, and hand-held electric drills where a straight cylindrical shank is the required interface. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a regular spiral type provide efficient chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. The 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate drilling depths without excessive chip packing. De-energize and lock out the drill press or tool before changing bits or clearing chips. Dispose of chips with care — stainless and titanium swarf carries sharp edges and presents a skin-laceration hazard.
