The TITAN USA CD45528 is a 7/16 inch mechanics drill bit built for high-demand metal drilling applications. Manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) with a black oxide and gold finish, it delivers consistent cutting performance and corrosion resistance in shop and field environments. The 135-degree split point tip reduces walking at start and requires no center punch on most surfaces. At 4.5 inches overall length with a 2.9375-inch spiral flute, this bit is sized for standard drill presses, hand drills, and magnetic base drills. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, and general mechanics reach for this type of bit when drilling ferrous and non-ferrous metals on the job.
This drill bit is suited for right-hand cutting in metal fabrication, conduit work, sheet metal penetration, and general mechanical repair. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw chucks across a wide range of corded and cordless drill platforms. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial trade work where a reliable, mid-size twist drill is needed. The split point geometry makes it particularly useful when drilling into curved or sloped metal surfaces where bit control is critical.
Designed as a general-purpose mechanics drill bit compatible with any standard three-jaw drill chuck accepting a straight-cylindrical 7/16 inch shank, including corded drills, cordless drills, and drill presses commonly used in trade applications.
This bit is installed and replaced by electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical tradespeople using standard drill equipment. Ensure the drill is fully powered off and the chuck key is removed before changing bits. Secure the workpiece before drilling and use cutting fluid on harder metals to extend bit life and improve cut quality. Always wear appropriate eye protection when drilling metal.
