The TITAN USA CD44532 is a 1/2-inch diameter jobber-length drill bit designed for production and maintenance drilling in metal fabrication, machining, and general trade work. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a black oxide and TiN coating, this bit runs hotter before dulling and resists corrosion during storage. The 135-degree split-point tip reduces walking on contact and requires less feed pressure, making it effective on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys. With a 6-inch overall length and a 4.5-inch flute length, the CD44532 provides ample chip clearance on deep-pass applications without the need for coolant-through capability.
The CD44532 is suited for shop and field drilling tasks where a standard straight-shank jobber bit is required. Common applications include metal fabrication, HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing rough-in through steel framing, and electrical trade drilling through structural steel. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks on corded and cordless drill motors. The 9xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 4.5 inches in a single pass on compatible workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium alloys.
Designed for use in standard 1/2-inch capacity three-jaw drill chucks. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium (material codes P, M, K, N, S). Part of the TITAN USA CD44 series of jobber-length drill bits.
Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, and trade professionals using standard corded or cordless drill motors with a 1/2-inch or larger chuck capacity. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck and verify concentricity before drilling to prevent premature edge wear. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to extend tool life. Always wear eye protection and secure the workpiece before beginning any drilling operation.
