The TITAN USA CD44509 is a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) diameter jobber-length drill bit designed for production and maintenance drilling in metal fabrication, mechanical, and industrial trade applications. Built from high speed steel with a black oxide, oxide, and gold coating, the bit features a 135-degree split point that self-centers on contact, reducing the need for a center punch and minimizing walking on hard surfaces. With two spiral flutes in a regular helix pattern and a straight cylindrical shank, this bit fits standard three-jaw chucks and is suited for hand drilling, drill press, and CNC drilling operations.
The CD44509 is rated for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium. It carries a 12xD flute-by-diameter ratio, making it appropriate for through-hole and moderate-depth drilling tasks in general metalworking, HVAC bracket and panel work, plumbing rough-in, and electrical enclosure fabrication. Overall length is 2.875 inches with a 1.75-inch flute length and a 1.125-inch shank length. Coolant-through capability is not included. This bit is sold individually but requires a minimum order of 12 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use jobber drill bit for any standard three-jaw chuck accepting a 9/64 inch straight cylindrical shank, including handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC drilling equipment used in metal fabrication and mechanical trade service.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with rotary cutting tools and applicable shop safety practices. Secure the workpiece before drilling and confirm the chuck is properly tightened around the straight shank before powering the drill. Wear appropriate eye protection and use cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel, superalloys, or titanium to extend bit life and improve hole quality. Inspect the bit for chipping or dulling before each use and remove it from service if the cutting edges are compromised.
