The TITAN USA CD44221 is a wire-gauge jobber-length drill bit sized to No. 21 (0.1590 inches decimal), designed for precision hole drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel with a black oxide finish, this bit resists heat buildup and reduces surface friction during cutting. The 135-degree split point geometry starts on contact without a center punch, reducing walking on hard surfaces. With an overall length of 3.25 inches and a 2.125-inch spiral flute, it delivers consistent chip evacuation across a standard drilling depth. Licensed tradespeople and machinists reach for this bit when tight-tolerance work requires reliable, repeatable hole sizing.
The CD44221 is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Its regular spiral flute and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks used in portable drills, drill presses, and CNC machines in both shop and field settings. The 2-flute, 13xD flute-to-diameter ratio handles moderate-depth drilling in a wide range of production and maintenance-repair applications. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied when drilling hardened steels or titanium alloys.
Rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S). Part of the TITAN USA Series CD44 jobber drill line covering the 0.1500 to 0.2000 inch decimal diameter range.
Installation is performed by machinists, maintenance technicians, or licensed tradespeople using a standard drill press or portable drill. Secure the straight shank fully in the chuck jaws before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. When drilling hardened steels, stainless, or titanium without coolant-through capability, apply an appropriate cutting fluid externally to extend tool life and maintain hole quality. Follow applicable workplace safety standards for rotating cutting tools, including proper workpiece fixturing and eye protection.
