The TITAN USA CD44027 is a 27/64-inch high speed steel jobber drill bit designed for production and general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication, maintenance, and trade work. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on contact, requiring no center punch on most surfaces. A black oxide coating provides mild lubricity and corrosion resistance during use. The bit runs in a right-hand cutting direction with a regular spiral flute, and the straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks without adapters. At 5.375 inches overall length with a 3.9375-inch flute, it covers typical jobber-length drilling applications. Installed by machinists, pipefitters, electricians, and general tradespeople who need consistent hole quality in ferrous and non-ferrous stock.
The CD44027 is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium-bearing materials. It fits standard drilling operations on drill presses, handheld electric drills, and magnetic base drills. The 9xD flute-to-diameter ratio handles moderate depth holes without regrinding. With two flutes and no coolant-through provision, it is intended for air-cooled or cutting-fluid-assisted surface drilling rather than deep-hole or through-coolant applications.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with any standard drill chuck sized to accept a 27/64-inch (0.4219-inch) straight-cylindrical shank, including 3-jaw keyed and keyless chucks on drill presses, cordless drills, and corded electric drills.
A licensed or qualified tradesperson should secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Always power down and disconnect or lock out the drill before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel, cast iron, or titanium-bearing alloys to extend bit life and maintain hole tolerance. Do not exceed the bit's rated 3.9375-inch maximum drilling depth to avoid flute packing and bit breakage.
