The TITAN USA CD40926 is a Letter Y jobber-length drill bit machined from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish. It features a standard 118-degree split-free point and a regular spiral flute geometry designed for consistent chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.4130 inches in diameter and seats directly into standard drill chucks without adapters. At 5.25 inches overall length with a 3.875-inch flute, this bit delivers a 9xD depth-to-diameter ratio suited to general-purpose production and maintenance drilling tasks. It is installed and used by machinists, millwrights, maintenance technicians, and tool-room operators.
The CD40926 is designed for drilling non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar soft alloys where a bright uncoated surface reduces built-up edge and promotes clean hole finish. The 2-flute right-hand spiral configuration handles both hand-held drill work and machine spindle applications such as drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers. The 1.375-inch shank length provides adequate chuck engagement across standard keyless and keyed chucks. Typical applications include fabrication shops, HVAC equipment assembly, plumbing rough-in metal work, and electrical panel shop work where Letter Y clearance or tap-drill sizing is required.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill replacement compatible with standard 3-jaw keyed and keyless drill chucks accepting a 0.4130-inch straight cylindrical shank, suitable for use in hand drills, drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Secure the shank fully within the chuck jaws and verify runout before beginning a drilling cycle. Always power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing bits or clearing chips. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed ranges for the workpiece material and bit diameter as excessive heat will reduce tool life on uncoated HSS tooling.
