The TITAN USA CD40850 is a wire-gauge jobber-length drill bit sized at No. 49 (0.0700 inches decimal equivalent) for precision drilling in light-duty production and maintenance work. Built from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit runs a standard 118-degree point angle suited for general-purpose entry into non-ferrous metals, plastics, and soft materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard three-jaw chucks. At 2 inches overall length with a 1-inch spiral flute, it follows the CD40 series jobber geometry at a 14xD flute-to-diameter ratio, giving tradespeople a reliable go-to bit for small-diameter work in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC operations.
This bit is designed for drilling non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper, as well as plastics and composite materials. The 1-inch maximum drilling depth and regular spiral flute design support efficient chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. It is well suited for HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, and fabricators who need consistent small-diameter holes in sheet stock, fittings, enclosures, and fixtures. Sold individually, it fits standard procurement for job-site kits and shop inventories.
Designed as a standard wire-gauge jobber drill bit compatible with any drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.0700-inch diameter range.
A licensed or qualified tradesperson should ensure the drill chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely clamped before starting. Power down the drill completely before changing bits. For non-ferrous metals, use a cutting fluid or lubricant when possible to extend tool life and maintain hole quality. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use — a dull bit on small-diameter work increases the risk of breakage.
