The TITAN USA CD40842 is a No. 42 wire-gauge jobber-length drill bit machined from high speed steel and finished bright/uncoated. It carries a 118-degree standard point angle and a regular spiral flute geometry for efficient chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks without adapters. At 2.25 inches overall length with a 1.25-inch flute length, this bit fits compact drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling setups where a short, rigid tool path is required. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for all common rotary drilling applications.
This bit is suited for drilling non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar soft alloys. The bright/uncoated HSS construction handles general-purpose production drilling in light manufacturing, HVAC fabrication shops, plumbing rough-in work, electrical panel work, and maintenance trades. Its 0.0935-inch decimal diameter corresponds to a No. 42 wire gauge, commonly used when precision clearance holes or pilot holes are needed ahead of tapping or reaming operations in thin stock or sheet metal.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit for use in any standard drill chuck accepting a 3/32-inch straight cylindrical shank, including benchtop drill presses, portable hand drills, and light-duty CNC spindles rated for small-diameter tooling.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by machinists, tool-and-die workers, or qualified tradespeople familiar with rotary drilling equipment. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before drilling. Always wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece before starting the spindle. Do not exceed the recommended drill press speed range for the workpiece material and bit diameter to avoid bit breakage or work-hardening of the hole entrance.
