The TITAN USA CD40812 is a wire gauge size 12 jobber-length drill bit machined from high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish. It features a standard 118-degree point angle and a regular spiral flute geometry designed for efficient chip evacuation during drilling operations. The bit measures 3.5 inches overall length with a 2.3125-inch flute length, a straight cylindrical shank, and a right-hand cutting direction. At 0.1890 inches in diameter, it falls within the Series CD40 line and is sized for precision hole-making in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working with hand drills, drill presses, or CNC equipment will find this a dependable general-purpose bit.
This bit is suited for drilling operations in non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar soft alloys. Its 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio and two-flute configuration make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole applications in light production and maintenance environments. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct chuck mounting in standard three-jaw drill chucks across a wide range of drilling equipment. It is sold individually and carries no coolant-through capability, making it best suited for lower-heat applications or setups where external cutting fluid is applied manually.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement in standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 0.1890-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material rating is non-ferrous metal. No coolant-through capability; suited for setups using external cutting fluid or dry drilling at appropriate speeds.
Install in a three-jaw chuck and tighten securely with a chuck key before operation. Power down and de-energize all drilling equipment before changing bits. Verify chuck capacity accepts the 0.1890-inch shank diameter prior to use. Follow applicable shop safety standards and manufacturer speed recommendations for the workpiece material and bit diameter.
