The TITAN USA CD40604 is a jobber-length twist drill bit ground from high speed steel (HSS) with a standard 118-degree split point and a bright, uncoated finish. At 1/16 inch (0.0625 inches) in diameter with a 7/8-inch flute length and 1-7/8-inch overall length, this bit is sized for precise small-diameter drilling in non-ferrous metals, plastics, and light materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks. Regular spiral fluting clears chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations. The two-flute design keeps the geometry simple and resharpening straightforward. This is a Series CD40 production-grade bit intended for trade use in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical applications where tight tolerances on small holes are required.
The CD40604 is suited for drilling non-ferrous metals such as copper, aluminum, and brass, as well as plastics and light composite materials. It is commonly used by HVAC technicians drilling sheet metal panels and electrical knockouts, by electricians drilling conduit and junction boxes, and by plumbers working with soft copper or plastic fittings. The 1/16-inch diameter makes it appropriate for pilot holes, small fastener clearance holes, and precision positioning work. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so flood or mist coolant must be applied externally if needed.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or stock bit for any application requiring a 1/16-inch straight-shank jobber drill in a standard drill chuck, compatible with handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC equipment accepting 1/16-inch straight-cylindrical shanks.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by a qualified tradesperson familiar with rotating tool safety. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify concentricity before drilling. Always wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece to prevent rotation. Reduce feed pressure near drill breakthrough to avoid bit deflection or workpiece damage on thin-gauge materials.
