The TITAN USA CD40250 is a No. 50 wire gauge jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in a wide range of metal workpiece materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a black oxide coating, the bit measures 0.0700 inches in diameter and 2 inches overall length, with a 1-inch spiral flute and 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The 118-degree standard point angle provides reliable self-centering on flat and curved surfaces. The black oxide finish reduces friction and offers mild corrosion resistance during storage. This bit is suited for machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance professionals who require tight-tolerance small-diameter drilling.
The CD40250 is designed for drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Its regular spiral flute geometry and 14xD flute-to-diameter ratio support chip evacuation in deep-hole applications up to 1 inch. Typical use cases include tapping preparation, fixture fabrication, sheet metal work, and precision component drilling in both shop and field environments. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for No. 50 wire gauge jobber drill bits in the CD40 series; fits any standard drill chuck or collet holder accepting a 0.0700-inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard drill press, CNC machining center, or hand drill with an appropriate chuck or collet. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the spindle is fully stopped before changing or seating the bit. For drilling hardened steels or superalloys, use appropriate cutting fluid and reduce feed rate to extend tool life. Verify runout at the shank before operation to maintain dimensional accuracy.
