The TITAN USA CD40215 is a wire-gauge jobber-length drill bit sized at No. 15 (0.1800 inches decimal equivalent), ground from high speed steel and finished with a black oxide coating. The 118-degree standard point delivers reliable centering on entry, while the regular spiral flute promotes consistent chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. Overall length is 3.375 inches with a 2.1875-inch flute length, making it a compact, well-balanced tool for hand-held drills, drill presses, and CNC applications. The straight-cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard 3-jaw chucks. Licensed tradespeople and machinists reach for this bit when drilling ferrous and non-ferrous materials in production or maintenance settings.
The CD40215 is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. It performs in both light-production and maintenance-repair-operations environments. The two-flute, right-hand cutting geometry handles general-purpose through-hole and depth-limited drilling up to 2.1875 inches deep. The black oxide finish provides mild lubricity and corrosion resistance during storage and in-cut use. Machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and HVAC fabricators commonly keep this size on hand for standard fastener clearance and pilot holes.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit compatible with any drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of 0.1800 inches diameter. Rated for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium (ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S).
Secure the shank fully in the chuck jaws before tightening to prevent slippage under torque. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless steel, cast iron, or titanium to extend tool life and prevent work hardening at the cut face. Clamp the workpiece firmly to a stable surface — never hold freehand when drilling metal. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or dulling before each use; a dull bit generates excess heat and degrades hole tolerance.
