The TITAN USA CD40006 is a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch decimal) jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal and other materials. Built from high speed steel with a black oxide coating, it runs a standard 118-degree point angle and a right-hand, regular spiral flute pattern. The two-flute design clears chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. At 2.25 inches overall length with a 1.25 inch flute length, this bit fits standard drill chucks and is sized for precision work in tight clearances. The straight-cylindrical shank seats firmly in keyed or keyless chucks without slippage.
This bit is suited for drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. The 13xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it practical for jobber-length reach without sacrificing rigidity. Typical applications include fabrication shops, maintenance and repair work, and light production drilling. It is part of the TITAN USA CD40 series, which covers fractional drill bits in the 0.0500 to 0.1000 inch diameter range. Machinists, pipefitters, electricians, and sheet metal workers commonly reach for this size when running small-diameter clearance holes or pilot holes ahead of tapping operations.
Designed as a jobber-length drill bit for use in standard keyed or keyless drill chucks accepting a 3/32 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium as noted in TITAN USA CD40 series documentation.
Install this bit in a drill press, hand drill, or mill with a chuck rated for 3/32 inch straight shanks, and verify the chuck is fully tightened before starting the spindle. Apply a cutting fluid or cutting oil appropriate for the workpiece material, particularly when drilling stainless steel or superalloys, to extend bit life and improve hole finish. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use — a dull bit generates excess heat and can work-harden stainless steel ahead of the cutting edge. Always wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece firmly before drilling.
