The TITAN USA CD32708 is a screw machine length drill bit sized to Letter H (0.2660 inches decimal equivalent) and built from cobalt steel for heavy-duty cutting performance. The 135-degree split point reduces walking on entry and requires no center punch on most workpieces. At 2-11/16 inches overall length, the screw machine length body is shorter than a jobber bit, giving it added rigidity in tight clearance applications. Two spiral flutes with a 1-1/2 inch flute length evacuate chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. The bright uncoated finish is compatible with a wide range of cutting fluids. This bit is manufactured to NAS 907 Type J specification and suits machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators drilling steel, stainless, and other hard or abrasive materials.
The CD32708 is used in production machining, maintenance and repair operations, and fabrication shops where shorter bit length provides better control and reduced deflection. Screw machine length bits are a standard choice when drilling on drill presses, milling machines, and CNC setups where spindle-to-work clearance is limited. The cobalt construction makes this bit well suited for interrupted cuts and work-hardening materials such as stainless steel and high-strength alloys where standard high-speed steel bits lose their edge prematurely.
Designed as a direct-fit screw machine length drill bit for standard straight-cylindrical shank chucks on drill presses, milling machines, CNC machining centers, and hand drills. Series 325 sizing is consistent with NAS 907 Type J tooling standards.
Installation is performed by machinists and maintenance technicians using a standard three-jaw or collet chuck sized for a straight-cylindrical shank. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before starting the spindle and confirm the bit runs true before engaging the workpiece. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the material being drilled to extend edge life and control heat. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if the split point shows signs of rounding.
