The TITAN USA CD32512 is a cobalt screw machine length drill bit designed for heavy-duty drilling in tough materials including hardened steels, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys. At 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) diameter with a 135-degree split point, it starts on contact without a center punch and reduces walking on hard surfaces. The overall length is 2-3/16 inches, making it well suited for confined spaces and short-stroke drill presses. The bright uncoated cobalt construction resists heat buildup better than standard high-speed steel, extending tool life in demanding production and field applications. Installed by machinists, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and electricians requiring precise, repeatable holes in metal.
This bit fits standard drill chucks and is commonly used in sheet metal fabrication, mechanical contracting, HVAC equipment installation, and electrical rough-in work where drilling into ferrous metals or stainless is required. The screw machine length (stub) profile provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, reducing deflection and improving hole accuracy in production runs or repetitive field drilling. The straight cylindrical shank fits into standard 3-jaw chucks on hand drills, drill presses, and magnetic drills without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling bit for use in any drill chuck accepting a straight cylindrical shank, consistent with Series 325 screw machine length cobalt drill bit specifications under NAS 907 Type J.
Installation and use should follow standard machining and safety practices for rotary cutting tools. Ensure the drill chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is secured before beginning. Appropriate cutting fluid or coolant is recommended when drilling stainless steel or hardened alloys to extend tool life, even though this bit does not include through-coolant capability. Disconnect or de-energize any power tool before changing bits.
