The TITAN USA CD30216 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-speed, short-reach drilling in metal fabrication, machining, and general industrial applications. Built from high-speed steel with a black oxide coating, this bit handles tough materials while resisting heat and wear. The 135-degree split point geometry reduces walking and cutting torque at entry, making it well suited for work on ferrous metals, plastics, and similar substrates. At 2-3/16 inches overall length, the compact body fits rigid setups and drill press fixtures where standard-length bits would be unwieldy. Two spiral flutes clear chips efficiently through the 1-1/8 inch flute length.
This drill bit is intended for use in machine shops, maintenance and repair operations, and production environments where consistent hole quality in tight quarters is required. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks without adapters. The screw machine length format is the preferred choice when drilling close to fixtures, in confined spaces, or on CNC drill presses and turret lathes where rigidity minimizes deflection. It is sized at 0.1770 decimal inch, equivalent to 4.50 mm, and falls within the wire gauge size range commonly used in tapping and fastener pilot-hole operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-purpose drill bit for standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting straight-cylindrical shanks in the wire gauge size range 0.1500 to 0.2000 decimal inch.
Installation of this bit is performed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance mechanics using a standard drill press, CNC machining center, or hand-held drill motor. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a three-jaw chuck before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the material being drilled to extend bit life and maintain hole quality.
