The TITAN USA CD30012 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for fast, accurate drilling in metal fabrication, maintenance, and general mechanical work. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a black oxide coating, this bit delivers improved lubricity and corrosion resistance during cutting operations. The 135-degree split point reduces walking at startup and lowers thrust required to begin a cut, making it well suited for hard materials and repetitive production drilling. Overall length is 2-3/16 inches with a 1-1/8 inch flute length, sized for use in drill presses, hand drills, and CNC applications where a short, rigid bit profile is preferred.
This bit is designed for use in trade and industrial settings where a compact, stub-length drill is needed to minimize deflection and maximize rigidity. Typical applications include drilling into steel, iron, and similar ferrous materials in HVAC equipment fabrication, plumbing rough-in, and electrical panel work. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw chucks without modification. The Series 300 designation places this in a heavy-duty grade range covering 0.1500 to 0.2000 inch decimal sizes, and the 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) size is a common workhorse dimension across many trades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or stock drill bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks across hand drills, drill presses, and CNC spindles accepting straight-cylindrical shanks in the 3/16 inch size range.
Installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals using standard drill chuck equipment. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify chuck key is removed before powering on. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life and manage heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace bits that show chipping, excessive wear, or discoloration from overheating.
