Built for electrical workers operating in arc flash hazard environments, this jacket carries an arc rating of 14 Cal/Cm2, meeting the threshold for PPE Category 2 work under NFPA 70E guidelines. The outer shell is constructed from 10.50 oz Nomex at 0.38 mm material thickness. Seams are finished with Therm-O-Rad sealed construction to maintain arc protection integrity at the stitch lines. Closure is via snap fasteners, and wrist cuffs feature hook-and-loop adjustment for a secure fit. Licensed electricians and electrical maintenance technicians are the primary installers and users of this garment.
This jacket is intended for use in industrial and commercial electrical maintenance settings where arc flash exposure risk has been assessed and PPE is required by a site-specific arc flash hazard analysis. It is suited to tasks such as energized electrical panel work, switchgear inspection, and other live-work operations where a minimum arc rating of 14 Cal/Cm2 is specified. This garment is donned by the qualified electrical worker prior to beginning any energized work task requiring arc flash PPE. All energized work must be authorized per a documented energized electrical work permit where required by NFPA 70E. Inspect the jacket before each use for damage to seams, closures, or the Nomex shell that could compromise arc protection. Do not launder with bleach or fabric softeners, as these can degrade the flame-resistant properties of Nomex fabric.
