The TILLMAN 556 is an aluminized carbon Kevlar back hand pad designed to provide heavy-duty protection against heat, sparks, and spatter in welding and high-heat work environments. It features an aluminized carbon Kevlar top and bottom layer construction with a 0.5-inch glass mat insulation middle layer sandwiched between them. The pad measures 5.75 inches wide by 7.5 inches long and is built to slip over existing gloves, adding a protective layer without replacing the glove underneath. Welders, fabricators, and metalworkers who need supplemental hand protection during sustained exposure to radiant heat will find this pad a straightforward addition to their PPE setup.
The TILLMAN 556 is suited for welding applications where back-of-hand exposure to heat and spatter is a consistent hazard. It works in both light industrial and heavy fabrication environments. The pad is designed to fit over most standard welding gloves, making it a practical add-on for MIG, TIG, and stick welding operations where glove-only protection is insufficient. Its reversible design and elastic straps allow flexible positioning for left- or right-hand use without needing a second unit.
Designed as an over-glove back hand pad suitable for use with standard welding gloves in MIG, TIG, and stick welding applications.
This pad is installed by a welder or PPE user directly over an existing welding glove before beginning work. Ensure elastic straps are fully seated and snug before exposure to heat or flame. Reverse the pad by repositioning the elastic straps to the opposite side as needed for left- or right-hand use. Inspect the pad regularly for wear, burns, or degraded insulation and replace if structural integrity is compromised.
