The TIGRE USA INC 1436-102 is a reducing male adapter fitting designed for polyethylene (PE) pipe systems. It connects a 1-inch insert end to a 3/4-inch male iron pipe thread (MIP) on the opposing end, allowing a transition between pipe sizes or a connection to threaded fittings and valves. This fitting is intended for cold water service only and is installed by plumbers working on below-grade or above-grade PE water distribution lines. It meets ASTM D-2609 standards and carries NSF 14 and NSF 16 listings for potable water service.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial polyethylene piping installations where a size reduction and a threaded male transition are required in the same fitting. Common applications include rural water service lines, agricultural supply, and irrigation systems where PE pipe connects to threaded metal or plastic valves, manifolds, or other components. This fitting is not approved for use inside a dwelling and must not be used with compressed air or gases.
Designed for use with PE polyethylene pipe secured with stainless steel clamps. Rated for cold water service only. Not approved for use inside a dwelling or with compressed air or gases. Fitting modifications void the warranty.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply line before cutting into the pipe or removing any existing fittings. Stainless steel insert clamps must be used to secure the PE pipe onto the insert barb — do not substitute with non-rated clamps. Modifying the fitting in any way, including cutting, drilling, or reaming, voids the product warranty.
