The TIGRE USA INC 1429-212 is a reducing poly insert coupling designed to connect 1.5-inch polyethylene pipe to 1.25-inch polyethylene pipe in cold water distribution systems. This fitting uses a poly-to-poly insert design, meaning it seats inside the PE pipe bore and is secured with stainless steel clamps. It is rated for potable water service under NSF 14 and NSF 16, and it meets ASTM D-2609 requirements. Plumbers and irrigation technicians typically install this fitting in below-grade or above-grade cold water lines where a reducing connection is needed between two different PE pipe sizes.
This coupling is intended for cold water applications only. It is not approved for use with compressed air or gases, and it is not listed for installation inside a dwelling. Typical applications include rural water supply lines, agricultural irrigation systems, and utility water service runs where polyethylene pipe is the standard material. The insert design provides a secure mechanical connection when paired with appropriately sized stainless steel clamps, which are required for proper installation and warranty compliance.
Designed for use with PE polyethylene pipe in a poly-to-poly reducing insert configuration. Rated for cold water service lines only. Fitting modifications void the warranty.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified irrigation technician following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before cutting into any existing line. Secure each end of the insert fitting with correctly sized stainless steel clamps torqued per the clamp manufacturer guidelines — do not substitute hose clamps not rated for PE pipe service. Never use this fitting with compressed air, gas lines, or in any application inside a residential dwelling.
