The THOMAS BETTS XPLFL224 is a bronze compression-style coupling designed for liquid-tight flexible conduit systems. It creates a secure, watertight mechanical connection between sections of liquid-tight flexible conduit, maintaining circuit integrity in environments where moisture, vibration, or physical movement are present. Rated for use in hazardous locations, this non-insulated fitting is built for industrial and commercial electrical installations where code-compliant protection of conductors is required. Licensed electricians and maintenance technicians install this fitting as part of conduit runs in wet, damp, or classified hazardous areas.
The XPLFL224 is suited for 3/4 inch trade size liquid-tight flexible conduit in commercial and industrial settings. Typical applications include machinery connections, pump motor terminations, HVAC equipment rough-in, and any installation in a water-resistant or hazardous-location-rated environment. The compression connection style provides a tool-accessible, reliable mechanical grip on the conduit jacket without requiring solder or adhesive.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment coupling for 3/4 inch trade size liquid-tight flexible conduit systems in hazardous location and water-resistant rated installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 350 governing liquid-tight flexible metal conduit. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before beginning any conduit work. Ensure the conduit jacket is cut cleanly and squarely before inserting into the compression fitting to achieve a proper seal. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as this may deform the conduit jacket or fitting body.
