The THOMAS BETTS XC291 is a 1/2 inch trade size angled conduit connector designed for use with flexible metal conduit (FMC). It features a squeeze clamp connection method and is constructed from die cast zinc for reliable conductivity and mechanical strength. The connector is non-insulated and intended for use in non-hazardous locations. Electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting where FMC transitions into an enclosure, panel, or junction box and where an angled entry is needed to manage routing constraints in tight spaces.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where 1/2 inch FMC is routed to boxes, panels, or equipment enclosures. The angled profile is particularly useful in installations with limited straight-run clearance at the entry point. It is a common fitting in branch circuit wiring, motor connections, and equipment hookups where FMC is the conduit type of choice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with 1/2 inch trade size flexible metal conduit (FMC) in non-hazardous electrical applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 348 governing flexible metal conduit. De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage at the enclosure before beginning work. Secure the squeeze clamp firmly around the FMC jacket and tighten the locknut on the enclosure knockout to ensure a solid mechanical and grounding connection. Do not use this connector in hazardous classified locations.
