The THOMAS BETTS XC290 is a non-insulated angled conduit connector designed for use with flexible metal conduit (FMC). Constructed from die cast zinc, it features a squeeze clamp connection method that allows for tool-free or minimal-tool installation onto FMC ends. The angled body redirects the conduit run without requiring a separate elbow fitting, saving space in tight enclosures or junction boxes. This connector is rated for non-hazardous locations and carries a 3/8 inch trade size. Electricians use this type of fitting to terminate FMC runs at panels, boxes, and equipment enclosures in standard commercial and residential wiring applications.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where 3/8 inch FMC is used to protect branch circuit wiring or equipment connections. The angled design is particularly useful when conduit enters a box or enclosure at a confined angle or when a straight connector would cause excessive conduit bending. It is installed by electricians during rough-in or equipment hookup phases, typically at motor terminations, HVAC equipment, and appliance connections routed with flexible metal conduit.

Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for FMC terminations. De-energize the circuit and verify the panel or equipment is powered down before making conduit connections. Seat the FMC end fully into the connector before tightening the squeeze clamp to ensure a secure mechanical grip. Do not use this connector with liquidtight flexible metal conduit (LFMC) or in classified hazardous locations.
