The THOMAS BETTS XC272 is a straight, non-insulated conduit connector designed for use with flexible metal conduit (FMC). It uses a squeeze clamp connection method to secure the conduit end, providing a reliable mechanical attachment at enclosure knockouts and junction box entries. Constructed from die cast zinc, it delivers solid corrosion resistance for standard indoor and protected installations. The 3/4 inch trade size fits the most common FMC diameter found in residential and light commercial wiring. Electricians install this fitting when terminating FMC runs at panels, boxes, or equipment enclosures in non-hazardous locations.
This connector is suited for non-hazardous area applications in residential and commercial electrical systems where FMC is the raceway of choice. Typical installations include motor connections, appliance wiring, and flexible drops to luminaires or equipment. The squeeze clamp design speeds up installation compared to screw-type fittings, making it a practical choice for repetitive terminations on production or service work. It is not rated for use in classified hazardous locations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use connector for 3/4 inch trade size flexible metal conduit (FMC) in non-hazardous electrical installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 348 governing flexible metal conduit. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before opening any enclosure. Insert the FMC end into the connector and tighten the squeeze clamp to secure the conduit mechanically before inserting the fitting into the knockout and securing with the locknut. Do not use this fitting in classified hazardous locations or with liquidtight flexible conduit.
